Upper Khimti-II Hydropower Project is a casacade RoR type of scheme located just d/s of Upallo Khimti Hydropower Project, 12MW located in Chuchure VDC of Ramechhap district of Nepal. The project components are located in right bank of Khimti Khola within Chuchure VDC. The project site was first identified by Himalaya Urja as a viable project with initial capacity of 3MW only on Q65% and later it was proposed to upgrade to 7MW. The project Upper Khimti II Hydropower Project (UKHP II) 7MW is immediately downstream of the powerhouse of the Upallo 12 MW project. The feasibility study defining 7 MW capacity was made on 2010 November carried out by Spark Consult (p) Ltd. The same was reference for power evacuation connection agreement, PPA reference and IEE study. The company is the process of obtaining generation lincese for the construction of the project after obtaining the financial closure with limited available time.
Upper Khimti-II Hydropower Project is located mostly in Chuchure VDC of Ramechhap distric of Nepal. The project area is located between longitudes 86o18'10" E and 86o20'10" E and latitudes 27o38' 20" N and 27o39' 55" N. The project components are located between elevations of 2002 m to 1855 m. The project site is accessible from Jiri in Mid-Hills Highway which is about 22km from Rasnalu Khimti Bridge. There is already completed access road up to the PH site of the project. There wll be requirement of road construction within project alignment and needs clearance and maintenance of the road for smooth transportation.
